Builders Club
With the decline of traditional shop classes, a widening skills gap has emerged between standard school curricula and the critical, hands-on careers our communities rely on most. Builders Club steps into that gap, transforming students into hands-on problem solvers. This dynamic program introduces participants to the rewarding worlds of carpentry, plumbing, mechanics, and engineering, laying a strong foundation for the next generation of builders, thinkers, and creators.
Through interactive design and building workshops, students will:
-
Explore the Skilled Trades: Gain an exciting introduction to high-demand career paths, including carpentry, plumbing, mechanical work, and structural engineering.
-
Master Construction Fundamentals: Develop a practical, real-world understanding of basic construction principles, blueprint reading, spatial planning, and tool safety.
-
Construct Miniature Projects: Put theory into immediate action by building a unique miniature project each class - such as scale framing, piping models, or mechanical gear assemblies that directly reflects real-world jobs.
-
Build Critical Life Skills: Sharpen essential cognitive and physical skills, including spatial awareness, fine motor coordination, math application, and collaborative teamwork.
Equipped with practical knowledge and a tangible sense of accomplishment, students will leave this program with a profound appreciation for how things are built and the confidence to create with their own two hands.
