Students will learn with and about computers to acquire a basic understanding of how computers process information through the integrated use of hardware and software. Lab sessions will introduce students to a variety of software packages that will include word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, communications, and multimedia functions. Students will dissect and reassemble computers, phones, and household technology items like speakers and remotes, to gain an understanding of how these items work “beneath the screen.” Kids will also explore the future of technology through the use of VR headsets

Emphasis will be placed on how to be safe when using social media platforms. Students will learn basic coding and get introduced to high-demand technology careers and get to role play job duties to develop interest in STEM professions
